Supporting disadvantaged children

Circus Starr holds accessible and inclusive events especially for children who are disadvantaged, disabled, or have learning difficulties, and DKS Utilities are happy to support them and raise awareness.

Their circus-inspired events give those most vulnerable in the community the chance to come together and make magical memories in a relaxed environment.

Circus Starr goes the extra mile to create an event that can be enjoyed by every child, no matter what their circumstances may be.

They are leading the way in accessible arts, with Changing Places toilet facilities on sites and each of the performances featuring a British Sign Language Interpreter.

Sadly, there are vulnerable and disabled children who often feel isolated in their community and don’t have access to a relaxed show like this.

They know just how important and inspiring the Circus Starr experience can be for children who usually miss out on these kinds of opportunities.

"Four-year-old Jessica made precious memories with her family when she visited us. Her family find trips a challenge as she has Hydrocephalus and Cerebral Palsy

'Our daily lives are filled with therapy and medical appointments so it’s rare we get to relax and have some ‘normality.’ It was really nice to be able to enjoy going out as a family, and the show has such a positive impact on my daughter. Jessica was overjoyed that the first act, Jesyka Jasters, shared her name and keeps announcing herself as ‘Jessica Jasters’ now!

Seeing how much Jessica enjoyed the show has inspired me to book some tickets to see another show at our local theatre, something I wouldn’t have dared to do before. Thank you so much to everyone involved in making the Circus Starr shows possible, it honestly means the world to families like ours.'
